“Do you hear the people sing? Singing the song of angry men!” This line is from the well-known musical play and film Les Misérables, it is a French Historical novel by Victor Hugo. It is considered one of the greatest novel in the World. This film talks about the revolution of people in France during 1789 until 1799, people in France experienced violent periods of political turmoil and political upheaval. One of the remarkable character in the film is Gavroche, who plays a short yet significant role in the musical film.

Gavroche is the eldest son of Monsieur Thénardier and Madame Thénardier, he is the songer brother of Eponine. Gavroche joins the revolutionaries of the students uprising. He is the one who announced that General Lamarque is dead, the only French leader who had sympathy towards the students. When the mounting starts Javert pretends that he is one of the revolutionaries but Gavroche knows that he's a National Military so Gavroche told to his fellow revolutionaries when Javert came back from spying his own group. Marius ask Gavroche if he can send his reply to Jean Valjean and Gavroche agree and he went to Jean Valjean to deliver the reply of Marius. Gavroche overhears Enjolras remark that they are running out of cartridges. He decides he can help. He goes through an opening in the barricade and collects the cartridges from the dead bodies of the National Guard. In the process of collecting the cartridges and singing a song, he is shot and killed. When the Revolution is over, Javert gives his own medal to Gavroche, because he knows that Gavroche is a smart child.

Gavroche sacrifice his life for the future of his countrymen. Even though his just a tiny person without even a power, make an impact to continue to fight for what is right. That's why this reaction paper is an example Formalism. Gavrohe symbolizes the youth and the hope of the motherland, most of us know that the future depends on the youth but we do not know what is youth all about. Gavroche is a great example of a youth with a purpose in life, he just wants to make a change not only for himself but also for the future of his countrymen. He open the mind of his fellow youth, to believe that someday they will have their freedom, freedom that can do anything without being judge or thinking the social classes of everyone. I believe that we can be Gavroche, we can make a change, a change for the betterment of everyone. People must love another, Respect culture or beliefs and Accept changes in everything. Because I believe if we do this three, in every aspects of our life there will be no problem that our country or nation can face, simply because in these three aspects in life we are united as one. If we are united it means there is Peace. Peace means freedom in everything or cessation of war or violence so Love, Respect and Accept everyone together we can attain Peace in life.

It takes courage to have the will to fight for your right. That's what I love in this film, it has a meaningful story behind the musical that we hear. The production is one point, the songs has emotion that made the story more promising and the characters are great. They make the film more realistic. The lessons that we can get in this film is never lose hope in everything and remember that we can be all good again because of the things we've done in past.
